I was born on April 24th 1980, in Constanta, Romania and you can say the taste for politics runs in the family.
Several years ago, I joined the Democrat Party's Youth Organization, and in 2008 and 2009 I was the secretary general of the Democrat Liberal Party's Youth Organization. My interest in European policies and politics dates from 2008 and 2009, during my internship at MEPs Iosif Matula and Monica Iacob Ridzi's parliamentary cabinets.
On June 7th 2009 I ran as an independent at the European elections and I won my seat in the European Parliament. I represent Romania in the European People's Party (EPP) Group, the largest in the European Parliament.
As a MEP, I am interested in promoting a European Strategy for the Danube Region and a European Strategy for the Black Sea. I'm also interested in helping the Republic of Moldova on its European way, as well as in defending human rights.
I believe in dialogue, well-thought decisions and responsible actions, which are basic tenets in the European Parliament.
I firmly believe in Romania's potential and its European vocation. Therefore, acting together with my fellow MEPs from Romania, the Romanian political body and the Romanian people, I want to bring my country closer to the EU's standards, practices and values.
