The Declaration of the Democratic Liberal Party’s MEPs

“ We ask the PSD to urgently stop the intoxication policy of European officials as regards the events in the country.

The effects of the socialists’ irresponsible action affect severely the interests of all Romanians, and of Romania in its entirety. In the unlikely event that this action should produce its effects, Romania would lose European money, would lose credibility, would lose investors, would lose of its external image. We, Romanians, would all lose.

What does PSD want, in fact? PSD wants to come to power. In any circumstances? At all costs? Even with that of sacrifying the interests of Romanians?

Actually, PSD did not and does not have any realistic alternative. For three years, PSD’s only strategy was ”Down with the President, down with the Government, down with PDL”, without proposing at least one credible economic solution, a reality that European economic analysts have remarked publicly as well.

Ponta wants to isolate Romania, in a time when Europe makes efforts to overcome a crisis situation, crisis to which all Member States are confronted. This is the explanation of PSD’s attitude against the IMF, the World Bank, the European Commission, attitude promoted through partisan media.

              PSD is disconnected from reality!

The intoxications used by PSD towards the European institutions try to make Romania turn back 20 years ago. Our country has to go on, no matter what the electoral interests of the socialists are.

PDL’s leadership, the party’s MEPs will firmly oppose to the PSD’s denigrating  actions of our country in the European fora and will use all the institutional practices to defend Romania’s national interest”.
